Simple Offshore Fishing Rig (Can be done in 60 seconds or less!)
I have a simple offshore fishing rig to share that I use widely in my offshore fishing. it is very simple to tie and I usually can tie it under 20 seconds. It is especially useful if you need to tie multiple rigs for your friends or family. It is also tested and proven for a wide variety of fishes in Changi or Southern waters... You can vary the length of your snood depending on whether you are anchoring or drifting but usually, I'd suggest a general snood length of 30 - 50cm as you can use it for all situations. This rig is very dependable as it does not use any knots to join any snoods together. The whole rig is based on a "one line" one piece concept so it's a really tough cookie! The only weakness so far is that the bottom (sinker) loop may be damaged over time if you keep getting snagged. Also, if big fish takes the rig, the loop might close up and you may have a very ugly rig! Limitations of this rig also is that is a bottom feeder rig... but that's us...

Name and Terminology Kurau is known as Indian Giant Threadfin salmon/Kurau/黑午鱼/Orh Ngor Senangin is known as Blue Threadfin salmon/Senangin/白午鱼/Pek Ngor/Ngor Soon Eating Quality Kurau is known the more premium species and is a popular fish for maternity purposes as it is believed to boost milk supply for new mothers. It is rare and big sized fish are hard to come by these days. Generally costs more than Senangin. Senangin is less premium and is readily available in the market in various sizes. Kong Kong River Mangrove Fishing with Rosman
Remember my not very exciting trip to Kong Kong river almost 4 years ago? That trip was not an ideal trip as expectations were mixed. Our idea about Kong Kong was that it was a huge mangrove river system ideal for lure casting for the elusive Barramundi... Something like a poor man's Australia mangrove fishing! We had communication issues with the boatman back then and he brought us to more baiting spots than luring... NOT THIS TIME! Finally arrived at Kong Kong Kampong after 1 hour drive from Singapore On this trip, Rosman brought us to various interesting spots around the Kong Kong river system... abandoned prawn farms, submerged mangrove roots, deep channels along the river.... you name it!
