Finally the long awaited Bintan, Tanjung Pinang or TP Fishing had come. So far, half of my TP Trips (some with Elly Kelong (Trikora) or some with Ah Khiang) had been good and the other half had been bad. Some of the fishing pals were just ready for some fishing action after a long break due to work, children and so on. Some wanted revenge from last year. Some had not even went on a 3D2N offshore before. As I had booked this trip very pretty in advance, we had the luxury of a weekend date with Monday being the only weekday. There were some new birds (Shawn, Nick, Mark) but we had some old birds as well so I wasn’t too worried about whether the crew could cope. It's been a long time since i went eging but the long wait is over! My family wanted a short getaway at KTM Resort, Batam over the weekends and i was glad to accomodate them and plan the trip. This time, we planned the trip with a local Singapore travel agent - Eng Seng Travel service since we could claim the fee. The trip came with a free tour on the second day and i mildly enjoyed myself. We visited Ralph Lauren polo tee shops, Golden Prawn Seafood, Kueh lapis batam factory and stuff like that. And of course if you go to KTM Resort, you have to visit Nagoya mall so we went there as well. Food at KTM Resort was a little disappointing at KTM Resort as they didn't seem to have the old menu. There was no more kung bao chicken and the crab meat in the asparagus soup was the imitation type! Anyway, the Avocado juice is still good! My dad and his kakis booked a trip to TP with Kansas 99 and i had to follow as my dad was clueless about what to bring and so on. I got ourselves a few "ah lau" cheap tackle for the trip and we were all set! Catch was not fantastic but could have been so much better if we fished throughout! All of us went to sleep at around 11pm on both nights!!! Also, our gear cannot make it... as almost all of us were using ah lau setups some even with mono line... many big rays, shovel nose and cobia were lost...
