NZ Kingfish Tackle Preparation

It's 2 weeks more to our New Zealand Kingfish expedition at Tairua. I'd thought I'd share with you guys the jigs that I got for the trip. I don't know what Jamie is buying but this is what I got so far...

MG Craft Skill L, Williamsom Abyss Speed jigs, White rabbit jigs, OK jigs, Smith Jig...

Hi Nigel,

could you share which jigs performed better and were more well received by the kingies ?

were there a lot of lost jigs ?

It varies.... but usually only long jigs.... the Skill Ls were well received for sure. But there are probably cheaper alternatives many nice jigs from MW or ATC... I think deep sea has a good selection. I'd say to mix and match premium and cheap jigs. Not a lot of lost jigs from the kings. They don't have sharp teeth...but u could lose a few to the baracouta ...which hangs around the kings
