1 July 2011 Kyoto Haven At Pasir Ris

Hi guys, as you can see, my photobucket bandwidth is down again. Hahaha. I'll be using blogger's in house hosting for this post. I'm still waiting for Alan to post photos of the island adventure. Meanwhile you all can keep guessing the fish that Jamie caught... :X

Anyway, it's my first visit to Kyoto Haven with Aseng, Ivan and Mark. It's supposedly sponsored by Shimano. It's getting hard to find good fishing and prawning ponds in Singapore but Kyoto Haven is one very clean fishing place. The best thing is that they have GT(Giant Trevally) in the pond and they have big fishes.

Our day started very very slowly even after they release fish. After an hour or two, we finally found out where those fishes are when Mark used a pencil to walk the dog over an area. Barras a.k.a seabass were taking the topwater lure but no hook ups. We changed to rubber and BAM. 3 barras consecutive hookup by me, aseng, mark. Another 1 drop by me. After awhile, everyone cast over to that area and somehow i think the barra got spook hahahaha...

After that i tried casting the white rabbit rubber again but this time in search of the fish. The fishes are hanging at the middle and i suspect maybe there's some small drop off so what i do is cast from left to right slowly searching for fish. Once leave the target area, faster reel back and cast again. lots of time there are takes when the lure is sinking on the way down. Once you get the correct speed, correct momentum and work hard by sweeping an area, you'll get the fish pretty fast kekeke

I finally a good size Mangrove Jack by using this method while aseng was in the toilet. The first take was... quite omg. Hahahaha... I thought it was a small one as the take was like a Tilapia take... But after i set the hook, it kinda bully me lor... But all's well end's well.

Next up aseng got a hookup on rubber... this time the fish took the bait and ran around 8m to the keep net... aseng kept saying it was a grouper. The fish got stuck in the keep net area but after awhile it came up... guess what it was only a not so big golden snapper a.k.a ACK. But we were still glad lol...

Somehow, i think that the Kyoto management can see that not many people are landing fishes. Except us who got all our fishes on rubber, the baiters are getting like 0 fish lol. So they release some more fish. This time it was Mangrove Jack and we got a small one before the place got "taken" over by some malay kakis.

I feel that Kyoto Haven is a nice place to fish. It's clean and there are definitely some good fishing areas at the place. The fish are very healthy and are taking rubber aggressively. Will be back there again kekeke...

Oh ya the pictures hahahaha....
