Fishing Paradise at Bottle Tree Village
Recently, we managed to do a trip to Fishing Paradise at Bottle Tree. It was my first time here and i don't know anything... What baits to use and what to target...
Ivan brought us there and we used some of his remaining fishing time that he bought there. No luck for us at the main fishing area... Interesting thing was that they don't allow baits like Chicken Liver but the bait they provide was taiwanese sausages!
More interestingly is that while we were fishing, people were paddling with the self paddled boats in the middle of the pond! Imagine a taiwan sausage hitting their face!
Anyway, there was totally no bite so we went to the kids pond for a try at the fish to cure our itch. $5 per fish landed.... and we only got 1... and called it a day...
I don't know if we'll be back... Hahaha....

Simple Offshore Fishing Rig (Can be done in 60 seconds or less!)
I have a simple offshore fishing rig to share that I use widely in my offshore fishing. it is very simple to tie and I usually can tie it under 20 seconds. It is especially useful if you need to tie multiple rigs for your friends or family. It is also tested and proven for a wide variety of fishes in Changi or Southern waters... You can vary the length of your snood depending on whether you are anchoring or drifting but usually, I'd suggest a general snood length of 30 - 50cm as you can use it for all situations. This rig is very dependable as it does not use any knots to join any snoods together. The whole rig is based on a "one line" one piece concept so it's a really tough cookie! The only weakness so far is that the bottom (sinker) loop may be damaged over time if you keep getting snagged. Also, if big fish takes the rig, the loop might close up and you may have a very ugly rig! Limitations of this rig also is that is a bottom feeder rig... but that's us...

Foreword and Disclaimer My first encounter with prawning dated back to 2002. Back then, I hooked up my first prawn near the prawning ponds beside the Downtown East chalets at Pasir Ris. Back then, it was something like beginner's luck but after prawning for awhile, you'll realise that you will need skill as well as luck to have a good prawning catch.
