Since Xris is organising a Pengarrang Kelong trip next, I dug this up to share with everyone. I remembered this trip i caught some very small Bai Ngor around 200g... There was a school of them. But I cant find the pics. Caught some ACK and Gao right below the kelong structures. Probably some escapee fishes... The food at Chia Soon Kelong was good and everyone who ate gave good reviews.

It's 5am and the sky is crying. How so shall my fishing later hold any results? Got ready my stuff, packed my lunch and very soon I was at West Coast Pier to take the boat to Pulau Semakau Landfill for fishing! Fishing at Pulau Semakau is arranged by SFAS (Sports Fishing Association of Singapore). I paid $40 to fish there so it had better be good! A fake man we saw at pier! Strange! At the jetty...

Kim Chio Date: 24 August 2007 Boatman: Ah Chong The day started pretty dull with black clouds forming and threatening to spoil our fishing day. Still we proceeded with our heads held up high and lowered the first raiding party into enemy territory... Very soon Taufik "Kan Chiong" Necroplastic got his first grouper of the day which hit the scales at 1.4kg. We were saying Necros' gao v big but very soon Ah Chong shocked necro buy bringing in an EVEN BIGGER gao!

This is my first luring experience. My mentor managed to persuade me into a night luring mission with him. I know nothing about luring and bring one ah lau baiting set. My only lure was a small grub I picked up at Punggol Jetty. Haha. Little did i know that grub will catch me my first fish on lure... The beginning was super bad for me. You will never know how hard it is to lure with an ah lau setup unless you tried before. Trust me it is not easy. Big reel, heavy rod with 20lbs mono line. Almost every 5 cast is a beehoon. Night luring... No light... nice spot... and countless new things to take note. To be frank, i enjoyed it. Anyway, these pics really bring back sweet sweet memories. I did not write a CR for this Sibu trip but its okay i will post just the pics. Nice trip to remember with Alan, Sticko, Momok and Cheong.

A CR long overdue. Morning transport went sailing smoothly and everyone was on time so we made good time and cleared customs with ease. Made the trip to Sibu  and some forum friends. Hope there are some Macks left over and hopes were quite high for me. We had our breakfast somewhere in JB and then headed on to Sibu... When we reached the kelong, the first thing i did was whip out my baitfish jigging set and went to scout for baitfish. I was disappointed when there were no baitfish around. There were only small schools of baby kunning which responded to my jigging. Its okay... took some prawns and baited. Got a few miss wong and leng chiam up and dumped then into the live well. Then it was time to do some live baiting. Did a float rig and floated a miss wong out... Had takes and landed 2 todaks. These fish can have a powerful first burst but they the 4th one, i was bored with their fight. I wonder why people want to use noodle rods to catch Todaks. On a meagre 3kg drag, the...

Decided to compile all my photos since so many undated trip without writeup. A bit blur with all the photos. May the photos inspire everyone including me.
