We had yet another Changi Offshore with Ah Fong and this time I had some admins from Singapore Fishing Telegram joining in. It was quite a short trip since the current guidelines stipulated that we could only fish for 4 hours. This led us to coining the term "Changi Pro Fishing Pond" since Pro Ponds usually is for 3 to 4 hours fishing.
We fished the upcoming tide on this afternoon trip and just two observations.

Giant rubbers continue to work but luck is important...
Lucky boy Yifan caught a decent malabar grouper on this trip. Interestingly, the colouration was quite yellow and there could be a good chance it was a released fish. Nevertheless, it still was greedy enough to gobble up a giant rubber lure by Island Angler that was hooked onto a tenya by Yifan. The hook was too small though and luckily the fish got hooked by the assist hook. No surprise that giant rubbers worked...

When Yifan had a fish on with the Zenaq Ikari 645 (which he shamelessly borrowed from me), I thought it was just a small grouper since the load wasn't that scary. The initial burst was powerful and Yifan had to bring the fight to the fish. He "Zhang-ed" and a few seconds later, the fish followed up. The rest of the fight, according to him, was "just reeling. Amazing. I always thought the Zenaq Ikari was 60% marketing, 40% quality but now I think it's 99% quality. The rod truly gives the angler an advantage and helps you bring in the fish.

This new pond has replaced the former Gills Fishing. I guess this is good news as there is so little fishing ponds left in Singapore now. Prawning rates are usually $30 to $40+ per 3 hrs and the only difference for some operators is whether they allow you to store your hours, split the 3 hrs into 2 rods. Marina South Singapore Fishing Spot (Eging and Shore Jigging Recce)
Marina South has always been a favourite fishing spot in Singapore. In the past, we would go settle our dinner at the Marina South buffet steamboat and then head off to the water breakers to crank deep diver lures.
