Everyone's itchy for some prawning fun these days but the location that you can do prawning with good catch rate seems to be so few these days... That's why I was pleasantly surprised that Haibin Jurong prawning ponds had good sized, big blue mountain and thai prawns! The quantity was not amazing as compared to the old Bishan Haibin but it's always size over quantity for me!
I had a prawning catch up session with a friend and during the 1st hour we were hitting prawns like crazy.... I think all of our 20-30pcs of prawns were hit in the 1st hour. After that the prawns stopped biting!
As usual, normal prawning tips apply... prawn near the centre pump and sides will never go wrong!
The prawns were cooked on the spot with the BBQ..... probably this is what most likely happens after every Singapore prawning session... ha ha ha....

Simple Offshore Fishing Rig (Can be done in 60 seconds or less!)
I have a simple offshore fishing rig to share that I use widely in my offshore fishing. it is very simple to tie and I usually can tie it under 20 seconds. It is especially useful if you need to tie multiple rigs for your friends or family. It is also tested and proven for a wide variety of fishes in Changi or Southern waters... You can vary the length of your snood depending on whether you are anchoring or drifting but usually, I'd suggest a general snood length of 30 - 50cm as you can use it for all situations. This rig is very dependable as it does not use any knots to join any snoods together. The whole rig is based on a "one line" one piece concept so it's a really tough cookie! The only weakness so far is that the bottom (sinker) loop may be damaged over time if you keep getting snagged. Also, if big fish takes the rig, the loop might close up and you may have a very ugly rig! Limitations of this rig also is that is a bottom feeder rig... but that's us...

Hirasuzuki fishing experience in Jeju I've never thought I'd be fishing in Korea all my life. Seriously! So when the opportunity to do some fishing in Jeju popped up, I couldn't say no. It was a completely gut based decision based on the goal that was to eat the korean hirasuzuki also known as blackfin seabass. Foreword and Disclaimer My first encounter with prawning dated back to 2002. Back then, I hooked up my first prawn near the prawning ponds beside the Downtown East chalets at Pasir Ris. Back then, it was something like beginner's luck but after prawning for awhile, you'll realise that you will need skill as well as luck to have a good prawning catch.
