After receiving some very kind comments during my previous post, I'm back! for a post... I'm still fishing in Singapore strongly although I find it tough to find time to write about my trips now with work, church, fishing, hobbies taking up time... I'd rather live it than blog it!
Here's a post on a great restaurant concept that we chanced upon after fishing with Jimmy... Jimmy brought us to this floating restaurant off Pulau Ubin... Smith Marine "Straits House" it was called! Best thing was that they readily took our fresh catches and cooked them for us! While the restaurant cannot be compared to Jumbo or other more "premium" restaurants, they did the basics right!
We had our fresh catch... and a mixture of live seafood direct from their keep nets!
Ah Du even managed to catch a fish there.... Singapore kelong fishing style!
Suitable for corporate gatherings, romantic suprises and family outings! Do consider getting your boatman to drop you off here after your Changi or Tekong Offshore fishing! They can send you back to the jetty....

This new pond has replaced the former Gills Fishing. I guess this is good news as there is so little fishing ponds left in Singapore now. What is the difference between the Kurau (Indian Threadfin) and Senangin (Blue Threadfin Salmon)?

Name and Terminology Kurau is known as Indian Giant Threadfin salmon/Kurau/é»åé±¼/Orh Ngor Senangin is known as Blue Threadfin salmon/Senangin/ē½åé±¼/Pek Ngor/Ngor Soon Eating Quality Kurau is known the more premium species and is a popular fish for maternity purposes as it is believed to boost milk supply for new mothers. Prawning rates are usually $30 to $40+ per 3 hrs and the only difference for some operators is whether they allow you to store your hours, split the 3 hrs into 2 rods. Marina South Singapore Fishing Spot (Eging and Shore Jigging Recce)
Marina South has always been a favourite fishing spot in Singapore. In the past, we would go settle our dinner at the Marina South buffet steamboat and then head off to the water breakers to crank deep diver lures. In fact, I remember a memory of having my popper being taxed from me one of those times we went luring there!
