Rubber Mania @ Pasir Ris Farmway 3 Catch N Release
Recently, i got to know this Poly schoolmate of mine whom i just found out also fishes... So late night after i book out and saw my MSN, we made a trip to FW3 the next morning.
Tackle Used: Shimano Bassterra Cross X Design 10 - 20lbs 6'6 / Daiwa Caldia Kix 2000 / 8lbs Powerpro Red
It is a few stressfull weeks for me as i got problems in both NS, health problems and You Know Who... So i thought some fishes would do the trick.
There was a problem though... We couldn't get the "Secret" Bait. Hahaha... So we got some Kembongs and chcken liver. The morning was super sucky but that lucky friend of mine managed to hookup a medium sized Chao Praya Cat. Unfortunately, much is left to be desired of the photo. Hahaha...
Now was another problem... The fishes weren't biting at all. They were simply not around... Until lunch time when i got bored and clipped on a cheapo rubber lure with a long shank debarbed hook attached to a spit ring.
Within minutes of trying i got my first hookup... It was a small cat!
Took the photos(Thanks Mark) and proceeded with casting and soon after, i hooked onto a Patin! This one took the bait like a speed bullet on slow crank bouncing below on the pond bed.
Now was the unbelievable part... After some more casts, ANOTHER Patin took my bed. Seems its Patin frenzy today. Mark fought the Patin and look how happy he is. LOL.
Lots more Patins were landed throughout by others and there was a short period i got 2 hits on my rubber but failed to hook up. One hit was a steam roller and after a burst, my hook came off :(
Seems that rubber is good when the Patin refuses bait... Hmmm...

What is the difference between the Kurau (Indian Threadfin) and Senangin (Blue Threadfin Salmon)?

Name and Terminology Kurau is known as Indian Giant Threadfin salmon/Kurau/黑午鱼/Orh Ngor Senangin is known as Blue Threadfin salmon/Senangin/白午鱼/Pek Ngor/Ngor Soon Eating Quality Kurau is known the more premium species and is a popular fish for maternity purposes as it is believed to boost milk supply for new mothers. Marina South Singapore Fishing Spot (Eging and Shore Jigging Recce)
Marina South has always been a favourite fishing spot in Singapore. In the past, we would go settle our dinner at the Marina South buffet steamboat and then head off to the water breakers to crank deep diver lures. In fact, I remember a memory of having my popper being taxed from me one of those times we went luring there! Another fairly famous fishing spot were the freshwater ponds just next to the saltwater side. Quite a fair bit of haruan (snakehead) and tarpon in there! Ok back to the topic.
