A decent Desaru fishing catch despite five cut-offs from Spanish mackerel, locally known as batang. We returned to Malaysia for another Desaru fishing trip with Ah Long Fishing Charter . Fishing around Tanjong Lompat can be unpredictable, but this two-day offshore adventure gave us a decent mixture of reef fish, plenty of cut-offs and the usual Baktao fishing kakis entertainment. The wind made fishing more challenging at times, but we still managed to put together a respectable catch. We visited Brother Fishing Pond in Taman Perling, Johor Bahru , for a fun session targeting giant trevally with light tackle and a handline fishing rod. Sherwin, Vinz, Su Yin and I made the short trip across the border to test a handline rod created by Jeff from RodStation.
